In anticipation of the new Star Wars Force Awakens premier, I've allowed my inner geek to resurface. I recently came across a great podcast from the "Poster Boys" highlighting the history of Star Wars poster design. They did an amazing job of covering all of the talented artists that have worked on the many variations of licensed art to support the six films. Star Wars has inspired illustrators and designers worldwide. Below are a few of my personal favorites.
Olly Moss' minimal portraits have become an iconic style, often imitated.
I love this series from Drew Roberts depicting iconic scenes from each of the movies. I particularly like the depth created by the consistent silhouettes in the foreground.
Last up, we have some illustrations from Dave Perillo. His stylized illustrations are wonderful snapshot of the characters and plot points of the original trilogy.
His Droids print below is like a cheat sheet to the inorganic world of Star Wars.
